Machine learning maps wild boar presence, ASF risk in new study

A research team led by Thailand's Department of Livestock Development and Mahidol University have trained a computer to predict wild boar populations for them.

For regions fighting African swine fever, wild boars can represent a major threat. But counting and tracking all those wild boars individually to determine whether neighboring pig farms could be exposed to disease is not feasible.
