Commercial use of ASF vaccine approved in Philippines

As authorities approve an African swine fever (ASF) vaccine for commercial use in the Philippines for the first time, further cases are reported in the nation’s domestic swine.

Authorities in the Philippines have approved the use of the AVAC ASF Live vaccine against African swine fever (ASF) for commercial use in the country.

This development was hailed as “a significant move in advancing recovery and re-population efforts in the local pig industry” by Agriculture Secretary Francisco Tiu Laurel Jr., reported the official Philippine News Agency.
