Further repercussions from ASF outbreak in Taiwan

Elsewhere in Asia, further outbreaks are reported in India and Vietnam; in Europe, the number of ASF cases in wild boar continues to rise well above last year’s total, with a particularly sharp increase in Bulgaria.

Taiwan’s first and only ASF outbreak to date was confirmed at a farm in the Taichung city area on October 21.  

Since then, the authorities have carried out a series of control measures, and investigations into the source of the ASF virus.
