Mycotoxin tests are more accurate, easier to use and faster than ever before, giving testing companies a better look about the global distribution of the toxins. The mycotoxin testing company DSM-Firmenich, released its World Mycotoxin Survey for January to December 2023. Here are some of the most interesting findings from the report.
- 95 countries participated, 23,808 samples taken, 113,558 analyses performed.
- 98% of samples contained 10 or more mycotoxins and metabolites.
- 47 average number of mycotoxins and metabolites per sample.
- 9.8 out of 10 samples contaminated with fusarium toxins.
Risk Level: The risk level expresses the percentage of samples testing positive for at least one mycotoxin above the threshold level in parts per billion (ppb).
