African swine fever hits more herds in Europe, Asia

As Italy and Slovakia record their first outbreaks of African swine fever in farmed pigs of 2026, more cases in wild boar are reported widely across Europe.

Over the past week, further outbreaks of African swine fever (ASF) have been confirmed in domestic pigs in three European countries. Meanwhile, the disease situation has been declared “resolved” in this population in three provinces of Poland.
