The American Feed Industry Association (AFIA) will host a panel titled “Feeding the Future: Climate-Smart Strategies for a Sustainable Global Feed Industry” on Nov. 15 at 2 p.m. GMT-3 during the 30th Conference of Parties (COP30) in Belem, Brazil. The event, held in collaboration with Sindirações and the International Feed Industry Federation, will take place in the inaugural AgriZone at Auditorium A4.
The panel will explore the feed industry’s critical role in animal health and climate solutions, focusing on innovations, feed efficiency, and partnerships with governments and international bodies. AFIA’s director of global affairs, Mallory Gaines, emphasized the importance of high-quality feed ingredients in reducing the climate impact of animal agriculture.
The AgriZone, sponsored by the Brazilian Agricultural Research Corporation (Embrapa), will host about 400 free events during COP30 from Nov. 10–21, showcasing sustainable agriculture.
Panelists will discuss policy, incentives, and cross-border collaboration to promote efficient feed systems that support a growing population with safe, nutrient-dense animal protein. Key insights will guide future research and climate action across livestock value chains.
Gaines will also speak on Nov. 12 at the “From pasture to plate” panel in the Action on Food Hub Pavilion.
