Nigeria’s livestock sector set for major overhaul

Key to achieving the federal government’s ambitions is the creation of livestock centers tailored to individual states, while other new policies offer opportunities for the sector.

Through the establishment of Livestock Development Centres tailored to the conditions in each state, Nigeria's national government is aiming to transform farming in the West African state.

Its target is to more than double the gross domestic product generated by the livestock sector from the current US$32 billion to US$74 billion by 2023, reports The Hope Newspaper.
