Bentonite’s many distinct functional properties

Bentonite is one of those feed ingredients people tend to group into a single category, as if every product works the same way. In reality, that is far from true.

In animal feed, bentonite can play several roles. It may be used as a binder, as an anticaking agent, to help improve pellet quality or as part of a strategy to manage mycotoxin risk. But its effectiveness depends very much on the type of bentonite being used. That is the point worth stressing: not all bentonites are the same.
