Early detection, advanced traceability vital if ASF hits US

African swine fever (ASF) has yet to be confirmed in any U.S. swine herds, but if it ever is, early detection will be “absolutely paramount” to controlling its spread, said Dr. Rodger Main, director of the Iowa State University Veterinary Diagnostic Laboratory.
