Swine fever confirmed on farms in Japan, Malaysia

In Peninsular Malaysia, pigs at a third farm have tested positive for the African swine fever (ASF) virus, while Japan has confirmed its first outbreak of classical swine fever (CSF) since October 2024.

Further details are emerging of an African swine fever (ASF) outbreak in the Western Malaysian state of Selangor.

Last week, MYsinchew reported that 920 pigs had been culled in the state. Approximately 2,220 animals were affected by the outbreaks, which hit two premises in the district of Sepang, and one in Kuala Langat.
