More than 30 Democratic U.S. senators signed a letter sent to Senate Agriculture, Nutrition and Forestry Committee Chair John Boozman (R-Arkansas) and Ranking Member Amy Klobuchar (D-Minnesota) strongly objecting the inclusion of the Food Security and Farm Protection Act (S. 1326) in the next farm bill or in any other legislation.

The move comes after the Trump administration sued California and Gov. Gavin Newsom over the state’s animal housing laws, claiming that they are contributing to high egg prices.
