Slovakia opposes proposed GM law change in EU

Based on the precautionary principle, the country’s agriculture ministry has expressed its opposition to proposed changes to European Union (EU) regulations on genetic modification (GM).

For Slovakia, the new draft regulation on new genomic techniques (NGT) is contrary to the precautionary principle that is fundamental to the functioning of the European Union (EU).

As a result, the ministry of agriculture and rural development (MPRV) is opposing the proposals that would see the deregulation of genetically modified crops (GMO) in the EU, reports Teraz, the news portal of the Press Agency of the Slovak Republic.
