Vet Plus, Inc. has officially issued a recall for two dog supplements sold under the Fi brand due to a potential Salmonella contamination.
Fi, based in New York, noted the recall was issued after an ingredient supplied to its manufacturer may be contaminated with Salmonella. The manufacturer has suspended production while it investigates, and Fi is notifying affected customers.
The recalled products were sold directly to consumers and through online retailers Amazon and Chewy.com.

Salmonella can infect animals that consume the product, and people who handle contaminated products or come into contact with an infected animal's waste also face a risk of infection, particularly if they do not wash their hands thoroughly afterward.
Pets infected with Salmonella may show lethargy, diarrhea or bloody diarrhea, fever and vomiting; some show only decreased appetite, fever and abdominal pain. Infected pets showing no symptoms can still carry and spread the bacteria to other animals or people. Owners who believe their pet has consumed a recalled product and is showing these symptoms should contact
