Knobelsdorff (KE) is supporting communities in North Carolina that have been devastated by recent hurricanes through a comprehensive relief initiative. The company is organizing a two-part effort that includes a local drive to collect essential cold-weather gear and mobilizing about 40 employees for a three-week disaster recovery mission.

Starting November 4, KE is calling on local communities and businesses to donate NEW blankets, clothing, socks, underwear, and gift cards (for Amazon, Walmart, and VISA), as well as new or gently used working dehumidifiers. The collected items will be transported to North Carolina and distributed to families in need. Additionally, there is a pressing demand for generators, and KE encourages donations of used, functioning generators or monetary contributions to purchase new ones.

Mobilization Efforts Begin November 4

On Monday, November 4, a 40-person team from KE will be deployed to North Carolina, where they will spend three weeks assisting in disaster recovery. The crew will focus on repairing electrical infrastructure, clearing debris, and rebuilding homes for families affected by the storms. Alongside their labor, the team will deliver collected cold-weather supplies to vulnerable families, ensuring they are prepared for the upcoming winter months.

The supplies were gathered during a donation drive held at Goodhue Schools on November 1.

Community Support & Relief Drive

To bolster their hurricane relief efforts, KE has organized a collection drive in Goodhue, Red Wing, and Zumbrota, MN. The company is partnering with local businesses to gather essential items, including:

  • New or gently used working dehumidifiers
  • New or gently used generators
  • Gift cards (Amazon, Walmart, VISA)
  • Cash donations for purchasing generators

Community members are encouraged to participate, with donation drop-off locations available on the following dates:

  • Monday, November 4: Goodhue Country Station/C-Store, 202 Front Street, Goodhue, MN 55027, from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m.
  • Tuesday, November 5: Red Wing Slumberland, 160 Tyler Rd N, Red Wing, MN 55066, from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m.
  • Wednesday, November 6: Mosaic Fast Lane, 1855 Roscoe Ave, Zumbrota, MN 55992, from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m.

Karl von Knobelsdorff, CEO of KE, expressed the company’s commitment to making a difference: “We’ve seen firsthand how disasters can disrupt entire communities. By mobilizing our team and gathering critical supplies, we hope to make a lasting difference for the families and communities in North Carolina. It’s our responsibility and privilege to lend a hand where it’s needed most.”

How to Get Involved

KE invites the local community to join this meaningful cause. Contributions will be loaded onto trucks and transported to North Carolina, where they will be distributed directly to families in need.
