A broiler marketed at 35 days has no time to waste. This changes the value of the first feed. In a longer production cycle, birds may recover from a slow start. In a short cycle, they usually cannot. The first seven days represent a large part of the bird’s life, and performance lost during that period is rarely recovered completely.
