VIV Europe 2014 will focus on the increased demand for fresh and safe meat products with extended shelf lives and convenient packaging. The show will take place May 20-22 at the Jaarbeurs Utrecht Complex in Utrecht, Netherlands.
This year’s show also will put a new focus on animal health with a new Animal Health Summit.
As the industry works to keep up with changing consumer demands, meat safety must be at the forefront. This is guaranteed only if every step in the production chain is carefully monitored and controlled.
Companies involved in any part of production or further processing must continue to adapt and improve their processes with standards for quality assurance and secure traceability. VIV Europe will put a spotlight on systems that cover the entire food chain from primary production to finished products: from feed to meat.
As the worlds’ platform on animal production and meat processing, VIV Europe will showcase the feed-to-meat concept. VIV Europe will represent every step in the meat production process and will include the poultry meat, eggs, swine, beef and dairy sectors.
Attendees will find information about industrial feed processing equipment, supplies, and raw materials; feed ingredients and additives; animal health; animal breeding; farm equipment; slaughter equipment; meat ingredients; meat processing, packaging, handling and refrigeration; egg processing; dairy processing; meat, dairy and egg products; subjects covering parts or all of the above-mentioned items in the meat supply chain; and knowledge transfer and consultancy.
VIV Europe 2014 will offer three special educational features at this year’s show: CropTech-FeedTech, MeatTech and Animal Health.
CropTech-FeedTech Europe 2014
CropTech-FeedTech is a special feature dedicated to the milling, processing, storage and handling of crops and feed. The concept involves the technology of production for feed, food ingredients/inputs and fuel.
The focus is on the primary processing phases of crops. More specifically, the concept fully comprises the production of feed, premixes, pet food, flour, vegetable oil, raw material feedstuffs and (ingredient) foodstuffs, biomass and biofuel products.
MeatTech Europe 2014
Each year, the supply chain for meat, poultry and aquaculture is getting further integrated. VIV recognizes a growing interest from visitors in meat slaughtering and further meat processing, which is the starting point for the specialized MeatTech theme at the larger VIV trade shows.
Animal Health Europe 2014
The World Veterinary Poultry Association (WVPA) will co-host the Animal Health Summit at VIV Europe with a session on emerging avian health threats. The session will include issues such as African and Middle Eastern infectious bronchitis, future avian influenza threats, Shiga toxin-producing E. coli, new salmonellas, and possible future developments with antibiotic resistances.
