DSM-Firmenich ANH, Zenkei to bring predictive analytics to Japan’s egg industry

DSM-Firmenich and Zenkei will utilize Verax, a predictive analytics platform for poultry health and nutrition, to help Japanese egg producers manage heat stress, improve flock health, enhance productivity and sustainability.

DSM-Firmenich Animal Nutrition & Health and Zenkei Co. Ltd., a feedstuff and premix company in Japan, have signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) to introduce Verax, an AI-powered predictive analytics platform, to Japan’s egg industry.

By detecting early physiological changes before issues appear, Verax will help Japanese producers better predict health risks, optimize nutrition strategies, improve resilience to heat stress, and enhance egg productivity and flock performance.

Heat stress remains one of the biggest challenges impacting poultry production across Asia-Pacific. As environmental pressures continue to intensify, the future of the egg industry will increasingly depend on precision, prediction and sustainability.

“This MOU represents an important milestone for the Japanese egg industry and demonstrates how precision technologies can help producers move from reactive management to predictive decision-making for a more resilient and sustainable future,” said Dr. Mongkol Kaewsutas, director of precision services of DSM-Firmenich Animal Nutrition & Health – greater China and APAC .

“Through this collaboration, we aim to better understand the impact of heat stress on layer metabolism and productivity in Japanese production systems while supporting more sustainable and data-driven poultry farming,” said Shotaro Takasugi, general manager of Zenkei.
