ASF re-emerges in northeast Indian state

After an extended period without media reports of African swine fever (ASF) outbreaks in Tripura, presence of the virus was confirmed recently at a swine breeding center in the Indian state.

Presence of the ASF virus has been confirmed after a spike in pig mortality in the northeast India state of Tripura.

The animals that died were at the Nalkata Regional Foreign Pig Breeding Centre in the district of Dhalai, reported India Today NE within the past two days.
