Vietnam records spike in ASF outbreaks

In response to a sudden rise in the number of outbreaks of African swine fever, veterinary services in Vietnam are undergoing a thorough review.

The African swine fever (ASF) situation in Vietnam has deteriorated, according to Reuters.

As of last week, the number of confirmed outbreaks in the nation’s swine has risen within the previous two weeks to more than 970, it reported, citing state media. Over the same period, the number of pigs affected — through mortality or culling — had passed 100,000.
