Van Triest CirQlar, part of ForFarmers that is specialized in purchasing and sales of co-products, and Tate & Lyle, a global leader in ingredient solutions for healthier food and beverages, are expanding their co-products distribution agreement to include Tate & Lyle’s production site in Grossenbrode, Germany.

Van Triest CirQlar will now manage Tate & Lyle Grossenbrode’s citrus pulp co-product distribution. Since 1994, Van Triest CirQlar has distributed several of Tate & Lyle’s corn-based co-products from its site in the Netherlands.

Citrus pulp is a nutritious material leftover from the production of pectin and is widely used as animal feed. Tate & Lyle supplies this citrus pulp to livestock farmers in northern Germany. Van Triest CirQlar will now manage this co-product, excluding production: from planning and logistics to sales, quality management and administrative processing. Tate & Lyle customers in northern Germany will receive the citrus pulp co-product directly from Van Triest CirQlar with practical advice and guidance on its optimal use in feed rations. This also means they can benefit from Van Triest CirQlar and ForFarmers’ extensive network and knowledge in northern Germany, including additional products and support.

The collaboration is in line with the strategy of ForFarmers and Tate & Lyle to make business processes more sustainable. By optimizing residual flows, they contribute to a circular economy and help to lower carbon emissions.

“For many years, we have distributed co-products from our pectin production to farmers across northern Germany, supporting Tate & Lyle’s commitment to beneficially use 100% of its waste by 2030,” said Sönke Schweiger, plant director for Tate & Lyle in Grossenbrode. “With this extended partnership with Van Triest CirQlar, our long-standing farming customers will now be served by a trusted, specialized partner. This allows us to focus fully on our core food and beverage customer offering, while we tap into Van Triest CirQlar’s network and expertise to maximize the beneficial use of our citrus pulp.”

“This partnership aligns with our ambition to professionally manage residual‑stream value chains and further strengthen our relationship with Tate & Lyle,” said Roel van Haeren, managing director, CirQlar Europe. “For Van Triest CirQlar, this marks an important step in continuing to grow in Germany and reinforcing our position in the market for moist co-products. In this way, we continue to contribute to the sustainability of livestock farming by using circular feed ingredients.”
