The Polish Competition Authority has approved Royal Agrifirm Group’s acquisition of compound feed company Bacutil.

The Polish Competition Authority has approved Royal Agrifirm Group’s acquisition of compound feed company Bacutil. Agrifirm said the deal was finalized August 31.

With the approval of the Polish authorities, Agrifirm expands its business in Poland and gains full control of Bacutil. As a result of the deal, Bacutil will merge into Agrifirm.

“The acquisition of Bacutil gives us access to the poultry market in East Poland, ensuring further growth in this area and bringing us closer to our goal: a top 3 position in the agricultural sector in Poland,” said John Dortmans, director of Agrifirm in Central and Eastern Europe.

The company now has five production sites in Poland, located in Szamotuły, Topola Wielka, Margońska Wieś, Płośnica and Bedlno Radzyńskie.

The acquisition contributes to Agrifirm’s mission of delivering relevant, measurable and sustainable value to its customers.

Bacutil is a company that mainly focuses on the poultry sector, both broiler chickens and laying hens, and has a production site in Bedlno Radzyńskie, in East Poland. The Bacutil production site has a capacity of 100,000 tons per year. Agrifirm previously said Bacutil’s approximately 50 employees will continue to work for the company after the acquisition.
