Farmer Automatic, The Clark Companies merge

Partnership creates global poultry firm

German poultry and egg equipment manufacturer Farmer Automatic and The Clark Companies signed a deal in April to become Farmer Automatic GmbH & Co. KG.

The new company gives The Clark Companies a 50% ownership in Farmer Automatic. Peter Vergossen and Franz-Josef Kühlmann will lead the firm as principal managing directors. Farmer Automatic is best known as developing the “automatic laying nest” in 1961. The Clark Companies is a Canadian poultry producer that also provides crop input products to cash crop farmers and production equipment to poultry and egg producers.
