Sollio Cooperative reported that for the fiscal year ending Oct. 25, 2025, its Olymel poultry and pork business unit recorded sales of CA$4.9 billion (US$3.6 billion).
In announcing its financial results for the fiscal year, Sollio Cooperative said the sales figure achieved by Olymel represented "one of the best performances in its history."
The cooperative attributed that performance to "good market conditions in the poultry and hog production industries, despite a complex commercial and operating environment, and by the optimization measures and performance improvement initiatives implemented during the year."
During the past year, Sollio Cooperative announced it was investing CA$142 million (US$104 million) in a project to expand its La Fernandière sausage plant in Trois-Rivières, Quebec. That plant is part of Olymel's operations. With that expansion, the plant is expected to have the capability to not only increase production, but also produce a wider range of products, including poultry and pork offerings.
As Olymel expands its Trois-Rivières plant, it will close its facilities in Quebec City, Quebec, and Cap-de-la-Madeleine, Quebec. Those closures are expected to occur this spring.
Also during the most recent fiscal year, Olymel introduced a new line of fresh pre-seasoned poultry products, including Mediterranean-style chicken breast, teriyaki chicken thighs, shish taouk chicken breast skewers and piri-piri chicken drumsticks.
Yanick Gervais is the CEO of Olymel, but he will step down in July. He will be succeeded by Chief Operating Officer Daniel Rivest.
The solid performance of Olymel during the past year helped contribute to a strong year for Sollio Cooperative as a whole. The cooperative recorded consolidated sales of CA$8.4 billion, adjusted earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation and amortization (EBITDA) of CA$562.3 million, and earnings before patronage refunds and income taxes of CA$211.9 million for the fiscal year, compared with $129.5 million in 2024.
"Sollio Cooperative Group's results for the 2024–2025 fiscal year reflect the organization's financial health and the practicality of its cooperative model," said Richard Ferland, chair of Sollio's board of directors. "This performance allows us to fully fulfill our purpose, which is to create value and return it to our members in meaningful ways."
According to information from the WATTPoultry.com Top Companies Database, Sollio Cooperative produced 150 million broilers in 2024.
