The value of Vietnam’s animal feed and raw materials exports reached US$205 million in the first half of 2014, an increase of 22.1 percent year-on-year, Vietnam News Agency reports.
China was the largest importer with an import value of US$62.3 million, followed by Cambodia (US$45.8 million), Malaysia (US$26.6 million) and Japan (US$18.3 million), statistics from General Department of Customs showed.
Vietnam exports animal feed and raw materials to more than 10 destinations mostly in Asia and the U.S., the only country outside the region, which had an import value stood at US$756,000 in the January-June 2014 period.
According to Animal Feed Association deputy chairman Pham Duc Binh in the Vietnam News Agency report, a large quantity of animal feed and raw materials exported to other countries are for re-export.
