Topigs Norsvin has named Dick Hordijk as its new CEO, effective March 31, 2025. Hordijk will remain CEO of Royal Agrifirm Group until January 1, 2025, as previously announced.
He will join the board of directors of Topigs Norsvin alongside Chief Financial Officer Pieter van Sundert and Chief Technology Officer Hans Olijslagers.
Royal Agrifirm announced in early October that Hordijk would leave the company. It announced this week that Piet Hilarides would succeed Hordijk as CEO upon his departure.
Hordijk became CEO of Royal Agrifirm Group in June 2016 and led the company through two strategic planning periods.
“I am fortunate that after eight beautiful years at Agrifirm, I can continue to work for a farmer-owned organization and contribute to the success of the most innovative pig genetic company,” he said.
Earlier in his career, Hordijk held various management and executive positions at Cargill, mostly on the international business side of the company. He obtained a master’s degree in business econometrics from Erasmus University Rotterdam and a post-master’s certificate in financial controlling at VU Amsterdam.
“We are very pleased with the appointment of Dick,” said Mark Tijssen, chairman of the Topigs Norsvin supervisory board. “He brings not only considerable know-how in agriculture, but he also has extensive international experience and brings valued-added knowledge to our sustainability agenda.’’
