Stacey Roberts joins Versova as Director of Nutrition.

Roberts  assumes role of Director of Nutrition and will lead the pullet and layer nutrition program

Versova, one of the nation’s leading egg-producing companies, has expanded its executive hen nutrition team with a seasoned poultry nutrition expert. Dr. Stacey Roberts joined Versova in September as a Director of Nutrition and will lead the pullet and layer nutrition program across the company’s family of farms in Iowa and Ohio.

In her role, Dr. Roberts will work to enhance Versova’s flocks’ nutrition and further establish the company as a leader in the egg industry. Dr. Roberts will research and implement new technologies in pullet and layer nutrition to improve efficiencies and sustainability and utilize a data-driven approach to continually refine the nutrition program. She also will work closely with the feed milling and production teams to ensure each flock’s nutrient needs are precisely met through ingredient and complete feed quality control programs.

“We are thrilled to have Dr. Roberts on our nutrition team and know that her expertise will prove to be invaluable at Versova,” said JT Dean, Versova president. “Dr. Roberts joins our team with 11 years of experience as a poultry nutritionist at Cargill and we are excited to see the great things she will do for the long-term health and well-being of our farms’ flocks.”

During her time with Cargill, Dr. Roberts developed and led the U.S. egg layer nutrition program for Provimi, an animal nutrition company that joined the Cargill family in 2011. Her responsibilities in this role included establishing nutrient requirements, diet formulation, recommending additives and ingredient selection, feed mill management, and on-farm flock evaluations. Dr. Roberts received her bachelor’s, master’s and doctoral degrees from Iowa State University, where she focused her research specifically on the diets of laying hens.

“I’m excited to start this new chapter and work to improve the laying hen nutrition of one of the nation’s leading egg producers,” said Dr. Roberts. “As someone with experience developing and managing highly complex nutrition programs, I look forward to applying my knowledge to enhance Versova’s nutrition program and am thrilled to be part of such a respected and prominent company.”
