We often talk about which tests to run on soybean meal. Much less attention is given to how often they should be run. Yet frequency is what turns quality control into real risk management.

Urease activity and protein solubility in potassium hydroxide (KOH) are fast, inexpensive tests. That means the real question is not whether to run them — it is how frequently they should be part of routine control, depending on where you sit in the supply chain. There is no single schedule that fits everyone.
