A novel molecule that binds calcium and phosphorus in poultry digestive systems could help producers reduce feed costs while improving bird performance and addressing environmental concerns.

"What we are doing here is we are providing an organic molecule, a lipid molecule, that binds to the ionized phosphorus and calcium," Luciano Andriguetto, Ph.D., professor, Universidade Federal do Paraná explained during the 2025 Poultry Tech Summit. "Now they are bound to a lipid and they will be absorbed as lipid droplets."
