FAO: Aquatic food sector must grow 22% to keep up with demand

Nearly two-thirds of that growth will come from aquaculture, FAO fisheries director says.

After overtaking fishing as the world's main producer of aquatic foods in 2022, aquaculture remains on track for continued growth, Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) Fisheries and Aquaculture Division Director Manuel Barange told members of The Marine Ingredients Organization (IFFO) at their annual conference in late October.
