French farming leader Xavier Beulin dead at age 58

Xavier Beulin, president of French farming organization FNSEA, died February 19 at age 58.

Xavier Beulin, president of French farming organization FNSEA, died February 19 at age 58.

According to reports, Beulin was France’s leading farmer representative since 2010, and was up for re-election next month. He also was the chairman of Avril Group, an oil- and protein-seed processing company, which he helped found and develop. He previously was vice president of COPA-COGECA, an EU farming organization.

Beulin also served as the CEO of french feed leader, Sanders, and CEO of Groupe Avril.

The leading French farming organisation FNSEA has announced the sudden death of its president Xavier Beulin, who also led a major agribusiness group. FNSEA announced Beulin’s sudden death on Sunday at the age of 58, saying ‘he gave everything for the open and independent representation of farmers’.
