Jamaica Broilers invests millions of dollars in grain storage
Jamaica Broilers Group willtriple its grain storage capacity by investing JM$830 million (US$7.5 million) tobuild out more room for raw materials used in the production of feed. Thepoultry processor, which also produces feed, has started construction of sixgrain silos, each with a 12,000 metric ton capacity.

Animal food rule in FSMA needs revisions, says AFIA
Whether or not poultry feedmanufacturers are ready for the Food Safety Modernization Act (FSMA), the finalrule is expected to be issued August 30, 2015. Feed manufacturers, however, aresaying the rule in its present form is highly prescriptive and needs changingbefore final publication.

Soybean demand slowing as ‘China effect’ recedes
With a slowdown imminent in the rate of increase in animal protein in China, the rate at which imports of soybeans grows is also about to slow down. Instead of growing at 5 million metric tons per year, it can be expected that the rate of increase will be falling. Over the next several years a much lower average growth of perhaps 2 or 3 million metric tons can be expected.
