Atria Plc, a leading Nordic food company, has achieved an improved "B" rating in the 2024 Climate Change assessment by CDP, a global non-profit organization recognized for its environmental reporting standards. This marks an advancement from the previous year's rating, reflecting Atria’s commitment to sustainability and proactive climate actions.
“The improvement in our ranking is proof of Atria's planned work and commitment to climate action. We are continuously working towards a carbon-neutral food chain, both in our own operations and across our value chain,” stated Merja Leino, vice president, corporate responsibility at Atria Plc.
Sustainability and Climate Targets
Atria has been transparently reporting its sustainability progress through CDP since 2019. The company’s emission reduction targets, approved by the Science Based Targets Initiative (SBTi), align with the Paris Climate Agreement, aiming to limit global warming to 1.5 degrees Celsius.
Key Climate Commitments:
- Scope 1 & 2 Emissions: Atria aims to reduce greenhouse gas emissions from its own operations by 42% by 2030, compared to 2020 levels
- Scope 3 Emissions: A 20% reduction per ton of meat processed by 2030 is targeted, addressing emissions across the supply chain
