Hubbard Feeds has participated in a series of meetings for their dealers with GlobalVetLINK (GVL) to help them prepare for the Veterinary Feed Directive (VFD) changes that will occur Jan. 1, 2017. Hubbard Feeds is a division of Ridley Inc., an Alltech Company,

GVL’s complete VFD system, FeedLINK, provides feed distributors and dealers with a 21 CFR Part 11 compliant online software platform to manage all VFDs, letters of acknowledgement or acknowledgements of distribution (AODs), and related information in a single, secure account.

“Being able to manage and archive all VFD documents is critical for Hubbard Feeds and the feed dealers we work with to efficiently fulfill orders and communicate with customers,” said Lori Stevermer, Marketing Specialist, U.S. Feed Operations, Ridley. “We are working closely with the staff at GlobalVetLINK to make our dealers aware of the advantages of using FeedLINK for VFDs which will allow them to conveniently and efficiently handle the VFD changes coming on January 1st.”

Through FeedLINK, feed distributors, mills and dealers receive digital VFDs immediately from GVL subscribing veterinarians. They can also upload digital copies of paper VFDs, emailed or faxed VFDs, and letters of acknowledgement or AODs from other distributors. All VFD-related records are maintained in the feed distributor’s secure 21 CFR Part 11 compliant account for a minimum of two years, and FeedLINK notifies all stakeholders as VFDs near expiration.

“Businesses don’t take chances with regulatory processes. They demand a risk management partner that has the experienced personnel and a proven infrastructure in place to deal with any situation that may occur,” said Cliff Smith, CEO at GlobalVetLINK. “GVL is proud to provide that level of VFD support to Ridley and their dealers.”

GVL has provided FeedLINK as the industry’s electronic VFD solution for over 10 years producing over 30,000 VFDs for veterinarians, producers and feed distributors. Patent-pending GVL SmartEngine technology guides users through VFD creation to allow only approved label information, helping to ensure VFDs are accurate, complete and compliant.
