Elanco Animal Health has appointed Jamie Preston as executive vice president and chief people officer, effective Nov. 3.
Preston joins the Indianapolis-based animal health company from Eli Lilly and Co., where she spent 23 years, including nearly two decades in human resources. Most recently she was vice president of HR, global compensation and workforce innovation, leading compensation and recognition for Lilly's more than 50,000 employees. She also led HR across five Asia-Pacific countries and served as HR director for Lilly Japan.
Jeff Simmons, president and CEO of Elanco, said Preston has "deep global experience across every facet of human resources, from organizational design and talent development to workforce innovation and digital transformation."
Preston succeeds Dave Kinard, who intends to retire at the end of the year. Kinard built much of Elanco's global HR structure after its separation from Lilly and oversaw the company's headquarters move from Greenfield, Indiana, to Indianapolis. He will work with Preston through the transition, Elanco said.
