Godrej Industries Ltd., the holding company of the Godrej Industries Group, Godrej Agrovet Ltd. and Astec LifeSciences Ltd., has announced leadership transitions as part of a planned generational succession.
Nadir Godrej, chairperson of the Godrej Industries Group, will retire upon turning 75 in August and will assume the role of chairman emeritus. He will step down from the boards of Godrej Industries Ltd., Godrej Agrovet, Godrej Consumer Products and Godrej Properties at that time. He has also stepped down as chairperson and non-executive director of Astec LifeSciences, effective April 13.
“It has been a privilege to serve the Godrej Industries Group over several decades and to work alongside exceptional colleagues who have built this institution with integrity and purpose,” Nadir Godrej said. “I am confident that the group will continue to grow from strength to strength under the next generation of leadership, while remaining deeply anchored in its values.”
Pirojsha Godrej, chairperson designate of the Godrej Industries Group, will succeed him as chairperson of the Godrej Industries Group and Godrej Industries Ltd., effective August 14. He will continue to serve as chairperson of Godrej Properties, Godrej Capital and Godrej Ventures.

Burjis Godrej will take on the role of chairperson of Godrej Agrovet and will join the board of Godrej Industries Ltd. as a non-executive director, effective August 14. He has stepped down as managing director of Astec LifeSciences with immediate effect and will continue to serve on its board as a non-executive director.
“I am excited to take on this role at Godrej Agrovet and to build on the strong foundation that has been established,” Burjis Godrej said. “Our focus will be on building a stronger, more resilient Godrej Agrovet — driving sustainable growth while sharpening execution across our businesses.”
Vishal Sharma, CEO of Godrej Chemicals, has been appointed chairperson of Astec LifeSciences with immediate effect. Arijit Mukherjee, chief operating officer of Astec LifeSciences, will be appointed executive director.
According to Feed Strategy’s Top Feed Companies database, Godrej Agrovet is a major Indian animal feed producer. The company specializes in feed for cattle, poultry and aquaculture, as well as sheep, goats and specialty livestock. Godrej Agrovet is involved in a joint feed/poultry venture in Bangladesh with ACI Group, as well as a poultry joint venture in India with Tyson Foods. In addition to animal feed, Godrej Agrovet is also active in palm oil, agricultural inputs, hybrid seeds, dairy and processed poultry. Singaporean state-owned investment company Temasek is one of the firm’s major investors. In 2024, the company produced 1.5 million metric tons of feed.
