Cargill, one of the world's largest privately held corporations in the food and agriculture sector, has announced that Brian Sikes, currently serving as president and CEO, will assume the role of chair of Cargill’s board of directors, effective January 1, 2024. This transition comes as a result of the retirement of Dave MacLennan, who has held the position of executive chair of Cargill’s board and has been a pivotal figure in the company's trajectory. As the newly elected chair, Sikes is expected to build upon the legacy left by MacLennan and lead the board with a focus on innovation, sustainability and resilience in an ever-evolving global market.

Sikes embarked on his career with the company in 1991. His ascent to the position of president and CEO in January 2023 marked a significant milestone not only in his career but also in Cargill's 158-year history. Sikes, the 10th CEO to lead the company, is celebrated for his unwavering commitment to fostering a positive company culture.
