Nutreco CEO Fulco van Lede and Skretting CEO Therese Log Bergjord will step down from their respective positions, effective this summer, Nutreco announced.
“I have thoroughly enjoyed my time at Nutreco, and my many years as part of the SHV team, and I’m proud of what we’ve achieved together,” van Lede said. “It’s been a privilege to work alongside Nutreco’s passionate team as we tackle the challenge of sustainably feeding an ever-growing population. Yet, after 20 years at SHV, with the last 10 working at board level, it is time for me to broaden my horizon.”
Effective June 1, David Blakemore will succeed van Lede as CEO.
Blakemore joined Nutreco in 2022 as CEO of Trouw Nutrition, the company’s livestock feed business line, and member of Nutreco’s management board. He has more than 30 years of experience nurturing customer relationships, driving the commercial and innovation agendas and guiding operations and has established a strong track record of delivering results and building strong teams. “I am honored to have the opportunity to lead this great business and passionate team as we continue to deliver on our promise of ‘Feeding the Future’ and our ambition for the next phase of growth,” Blakemore said. It was van Lede’s personal decision to resign.
“We respect Fulco’s decision to step down and want to thank him for all his contributions to Nutreco and the wider SHV family of companies over the years and wish him all the best in the future,” said SHV CEO Jeroen Drost. “David’s experience in the industry and knowledge of the company makes him an excellent successor and the right leader to take the company forward to its next phase of growth.”
Bergjord’s resignation, which was also a personal decision, is also effective June 1. She will be succeeded by Bastiaan van Tilburg, managing director for Trouw Nutrition Europe and Central Asia.
“I’ve enjoyed every minute of my time at Skretting and as part of the Nutreco leadership team,” she said. “We’ve achieved so much, and I will continue to champion sustainable aquaculture even as I move onto my next opportunity.”
Blakemore will be succeeded by Eduardo Lopes Alberto, who joined Nutreco in January 2024 as vice president global innovation for Trouw Nutrition.
