Combining additives with suspected anti-microbial properties may accelerate their benefits and improve the ease of use for producers, according to in-house research by Cargill.

The company recently launched its new Biostrong C-Protect product, an additive that was specifically designed to combat avian pathogenic E. coli in layers following trials with producers. Those trials indicate that the additive reduced fatalities and improved in layers exposed to APEC by 26%, according to data from the company.
