Anti-viral fogging tech for HPAI in development at Purdue University

Fogging with catmint oil could give poultry producers another tool to prevent HPAI, researcher says.

Tests underway at Purdue University will verify whether spraying poultry houses with catmint oil could help prevent the spread of HPAI.

The university secured a $2 million grant from the U.S. Department of Agriculture's (USDA) Animal and Plant Health Inspection Service to test a novel antiviral fogging device using hydrogenated catmint oil in partnership with biotechnology firm Entomol, ag tech company 1,4GROUP and The Ohio State University.
