As of the end of June, there have been 29 cases of New World screwworm (NWS) in the U.S., according to the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s (USDA) Animal and Plant Health Inspection Service (APHIS).
The latest case was reported in a dog in Pecos County, Texas, on June 30.
