Wisconsin proposes substantial revisions to animal health program fee plan

Wisconsin’s Department of Agriculture, Trade and Consumer Protection (DATCP) has proposed substantial modifications to two administrative rules after it received hundreds of comments.

The two rules affected are ATCP 10, related to animal disease and movement, and ATCP 12, related to animal markets, dealers and truckers. ATCP 10 supports animal health programs including certificate of veterinary inspection forms, intermediate handling facilities, disease certifications (brucellosis, tuberculosis, pseudorabies), equine infectious anemia retests, equine quarantine stations, feed lots, medical separation, National Poultry Improvement Plan, farm-raised deer, and fish farms. ATCP 12 supports animal markets, animal dealers and animal truckers.
