GM corn variety cleared for use in EU animal feeds

Another genetically modified (GM) variety of corn has been approved for use in the European Union.

The European Commission (EC) has approved the use of a further genetically modified (GM) corn variety for use in animal feeds and human foods in the EU.

In future, the variety — which is not identified — can be imported into the bloc for these purposes. However, the authorization excludes the cultivation of the crop anywhere the region.
