The Consumer Protection Administration in the Al-Wusta Governorate of Oman seized 105 bags of expired animal feed as part of an extensive inspection campaign, according to the administration.
The campaign, in cooperation with the General Directorate of Agricultural, Fisheries and Water Resources in the governorate, targeted shops selling animal feed and forage, with the aim of verifying their compliance with health requirements and approved standards, ensuring community safety, and supporting an effective regulatory system across various sectors to safeguard the livestock resources in the governorate.
The details of the seizure indicate that judicial control officers conducted field visits to markets and shops selling animal feed and forage in Al-Wusta Governorate to ensure the validity of the products and the suppliers’ compliance with the approved health requirements and standards. The bags of feed were seized during the visit, and the administration took the necessary legal measures in accordance with the Consumer Protection Law, while confiscating the seized items to prevent their circulation in the markets.
These efforts come as part of a series of intensive inspection campaigns carried out by the administration in cooperation with the competent authorities, reaffirming its ongoing commitment to promoting proper market practices and ensuring the availability of safe and valid products for use. This aligns with the objectives of Oman Vision 2040, which seeks to enhance quality of life and ensure the sustainability of animal and agricultural resources.
