Registration is now open for the 2015 International Production & Processing Expo (IPPE), which will be held January 27-29 in Atlanta, Georgia. The largest trade show of its kind is a collaboration of the International Feed Expo, International Poultry Expo and International Meat Expo all under one roof, which educates the agricultural industry on various issues, trends and technologies.
The event is hosted by the American Feed Industry Association (AFIA), U.S. Poultry & Egg Association (USPOULTRY) and the American Meat Institute (AMI).
IPPE has already surpassed 450,000 square feet of exhibit space and is on track to have 28,000 attendees from across the globe that will have the opportunity to network and connect with more than 1,000 exhibitors from the feed, poultry and meat industries.
All employees of feed and pet food manufacturing AFIA members qualify for free registration through the Members to Atlanta, or M2A, program.
AFIA hosting feed exporting meeting
AFIA will also hold an “Exporting Feed and Feed Ingredients to the U.S.,” meeting, which will provide insight in to the complex process of exporting feed and feed ingredients into the United States. Gina Tumbarello, AFIA’s director of international policy and trade, will lead the program, focusing on topics such as “U.S. feed/feed ingredient import trends,” “APHIS: Exporting Animal and Plant Products to the U.S.,” and “Exporting FDA-regulated Products to the U.S.” The early-bird fee for the exporting seminar is $40, or $60 for on-site registration.
FSMA training seminar planed
A new program to AFIA’s agenda this year is a one-day Food Safety Modernization Act (FSMA) training seminar organized to enable the feed and pet food industries to better understand the largest set of rules to impact industry since the 1950s. The FSMA training session will cover various components of the new law that will be required by feed and pet food manufacturers as well as ingredient suppliers. The session topics will include: “CGMPs: The Foundation for an Effective Food Safety Plan,” “What are the Key Components of a Supplier Verification Program?” and “Hazard Identification and Analysis.” The early-bird fee for the FSMA training is $65, or $85 for on-site registration.
Pet Food Conference planned
The 2015 International Feed Expo will offer AFIA’s eighth annual “Pet Food Conference,” which will offer topics ranging from “Domestic and Global Industry Trends” to “Social Media: Why and How to Engage.” Representatives from the U.S. Food and Drug Administration, Association of American Feed Control Officials and Centers of Disease Control and Prevention will also be present to provide updates. The early-bird fee for the Pet Food Conference is $75, or $95 for on-site registration.
