An expert working group of the International Cooperation for Convergence of Technical Requirements for the Assessment of Feed Ingredients (ICCF) composed of experts drawn from the ICCF founding members has developed a new guidance document on analytical methods of feed ingredients.
The ICCF Steering Committee adopted the draft guidance document for public consultation on March 3.
Public consultation on the guidance document is open for comments by interested stakeholders until April 3. Stakeholders are invited to submit their comments.
The draft guidance document provides recommendations on the development, validation and transfer of analytical methods in the context of assessment of feed ingredients. The analytical methods covered by this document are those methods used to measure the concentration of the active substance of feed ingredient in the various feed matrices (feed, premixture and ingredient market formulation) as well as of the active substance and/or its metabolites in animal tissues or excreta. Analytical methods used for specifying the feed ingredient are also part of the scope of the guidance document.
