Instituto BRF holds conservation event

On March 22 ,100 volunteers cleaned the banks of the Taquari River in Lajeado.

On March 22 World Water Day, the Instituto BRF mobilized about 100 volunteers to clean the banks of the Taquari River in Lajeado (RS), aiming to support environmental preservation and raise awareness about water conservation. Organized in partnership with the local department of the environment, the initiative covered stretches of the river passing through areas where BRF operates.

Raquel Ogando, the executive director of Instituto BRF, highlighted the company's longstanding commitment to local development and sustainability, especially given its 50-year presence in Lajeado. In addition to this environmental effort, the Instituto BRF has been active in supporting the community after the 2024 floods, providing donations and psychological support to those affected.

The company also has a robust water management program, with a public commitment to reduce water consumption in its operations by 13% by 2025, already achieving a 11.4% reduction. BRF's efforts in sustainability earned it an A- rating in CDP's 2025 "Water Security" category.

BRF's Lajeado unit, one of its largest production centers, employs around 3,400 people and produces significant quantities of chicken and pork, as well as various food products under brands like Sadia and Perdigão, which are exported globally.
