Nor-Feed reinforces its IP position on dry grape extracts

Nor-Feed reinforces its IP position on dry grape extracts.

Acquisition fits perfectly with Nor-Feed’s strategy

At the end of 2019, Nor-Feed purchased from one of the world leaders in veterinary pharmacy a family of patents organized around the WO 2017/136570 patent “Antioxidants against oxidative stress during a stressor event”.

This patent first registered in the USA and extended via a PCT procedure to Australia, Canada, the European Union, Hong Kong, Mexico and New Zealand describes an original combination of grape extract and Selenium.

The technical file supporting the patent includes a number of trials some already are published and showing the benefits of antioxidants during poultry vaccination (“Impacts of antioxidant supplementation in drinking water in broilers”) or during piglets weaning (Effects of standardized grape extract and selenium supplementation on the reduction of oxidative stress in piglets at weaning”).

This acquisition fits perfectly with Nor-Feed’s strategy to consolidate its know-how around its main products, the Nor-Grape range in particular, which is now protected by 5 patents.
