Assessment of Feed Ingredients (ICCF) Steering Committee has endorsed the guidance document on ‘Feed Ingredient Environmental Risk Assessment Approach’ during its meeting on the June 6, 2023.
In 2021, an Expert Working Group composed of dedicated regulatory authority and industry experts from the founding ICCF members was created to establish an approach for the risk assessment of the use of feed ingredients on environmental compartments (soil and water).
This approach will allow the applicants to evaluate whether further studies are necessary for assessing the specific hazard of a feed ingredient. The guidance document builds on existing international guidance documents and on the expertise and experience from a panel of experts drawn from the ICCF founding members.
