Alleged to have stolen more than $100,000 from company
A former Neogen Corp. employee has been charged with embezzling more than $100,000 from the company between 2014 and 2018.
According to a spokesperson from the Ingham County, Michigan, prosecutor’s office, Tammy Ritter, 56, faces two charges: embezzlement of more than $100,000 and using a computer to commit a crime. Both charges are felonies that could bring sentences of up to 20 years each. If convicted on both counts, the sentences would likely be served concurrently, the spokesperson said.
The case, investigated by the Lansing Police Department, involved alleged conduct that occurred between 2014 and 2018. Evidence was presented to the prosecutor’s office in October 2018.
A pretrial hearing in the case is scheduled for December 4.
Neogen declined to comment on the case.
