Mads Martinsen has been appointed CEO of Skretting Norway, after Håvard Walde became Skretting’s new managing director for the salmon business in Australia, Chile, North America and Norway.

“I am filled with both joy and awe at being allowed to help drive the development of the feed side of Norwegian aquaculture,” Martinsen said. “We have some fantastic opportunities to produce even more of the best and most sustainable food the world demands, so this is something I am really passionate about. Fortunately, we are in a situation where we can achieve this because we have partnership agreements in place that provide good opportunities to create value through innovation, sustainability and the development of products that the industry needs and wants.”

For the past seven years, Martinsen has been director of product development and sustainability at Skretting Norway. He joined Skretting as a recent fisheries graduate from the University of Tromsø in 2011, and quickly became head of the research station at Lerang before being given responsibility for the growth feeds in Norway in 2016.

“We have gained a skilled manager who knows the company and who has great commitment to aquaculture,” Walde said. “I personally greatly appreciate the collaboration I have with Mads and the Norwegian team, and look forward to the continuation.”
